Two local children may
have killed their parents
with the help of a Happy
life Home nursery

September 23, 1950, the remains of George and Lydia Hadley were found in the Happylife Home in Pearl River, New York. Their two children, Wendy and Peter are in custody as suspects.
Only three months prior, the Hadley’s installed the Happylife Home for $30 000. Among many of its operations it could cook, cloth, feed and clean its inhabitants.
The 40×40×30 foot nursery - where the remains were found -was installed at the same time. This cost them an additional $30 000.
The nurseries that Happylife Home install, are mechanically enhanced to show whatever is in the child(ren)’s mind.
"The original use of the nurseries were so that we could study the patterns on the walls(of the room) by the child’s mind," says Dr. David Mclean, a psychologist in Pearl River.
Mclean was working with the Hadleys at the time of Lydia and George’s death. He told us that George and Lydia had become frightened of what the room was showing.
For the past month, whenever they would enter the nursery they appeared to be in an African grassland. Screams could be heard, then lions would appear and devour whatever had made those screams.
"To them the scene appeared to be too life-like and had asked me to come on September 22 and see it," reports Dr. Mclean.
"Immediately I knew the room wasn’t helping the children, as it was originally meant to do. Instead, it had become a channel toward destructive thoughts."
"I advised him to shut down the room(which he then did) and then let me have a session with the children the following day."
The next day, Mclean returned to talk with the children. Wendy and Peter were in the nursery. However, their parents were not there.
Upon further examination of the room, he found George and Lydia’s remains.
Pearl River’s Chief of Police, Doug Hayworthy says, "Wendy and Peter Hadley are currently in our custody for suspect murder, where they will remain until a further verdict on the court date(October 19, 1950).
The coroner released a cause of death reports early yesterday. It states George and Lydia appear to have been attacked by a large animal and then partly consumed. The deaths would have been quick.
Investigators suspect the nursery system in the Hadley home was faulty, making it possible for the children to abolish their parents.
Meaning there is a possibility that other nurseries produced by Happylife Home may also be faulty.
The president of the company, Edward Crisstporf Jr. made a public announcement early last evening. He has asked fo r all homes with their nursery to turn it off until further notice.
